Nominations have opened ahead of the Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards 2023, which shine a light on both our committed sports people and the volunteers who keep the clubs running.

The annual event recognises outstanding achievements and service. Competition is fierce and the winners never fail to impress.
Organisers from the Isle of Wight Sports Foundation said: " We would like to see as many sports and clubs as possible represented in the nominations.
"Putting forward a nomination is acknowledging in public, the success that a member or team has achieved in 2023, or the contribution that a volunteer or officer has made to the progress of the club."
How to nominate an Islander for an Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Award
- Individuals, sports clubs and schools can be nominated
- You need to be a member of the Isle of Wight Sports Foundation , which costs £10 per year
- New members will get the end of this year free

As well as professional and amateur sportspeople, schools can be nominated too.
Finalists are picked by the members of an independent judging panel.
An awards ceremony will be held at Medina Theatre in Newport, on Thursday, March 21.
