A former Isle of Wight sportsman, who now plays for Australia, is spearheading his side's battle against India in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup final this afternoon (Sunday, November 19).
Travis Head, who used to play for Ventnor, just made a century and earlier, caught Rohit Sharma, India's captain, for 47 runs.
Just shy of his 30th birthday, the left hander had a season at Steephill in 2013, when he topped the Southern Premier League batting charts, with 733 runs.
After his successful season on the Island, he went on to play county cricket for Yorkshire and Sussex.
The two sides are playing at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
