The Arthur Butt Shield for the most points during 2023 was handed to Freshwater Bay Golf Club (FBGC), at the Isle of Wight Senior Golf Alliance AGM and dinner.
Mark Vallely lifted the trophy on the club's behalf, after FBGC members earned 100 points.
Their closest rival was Ryde, with 65 points.
A slew of individual trophies were also won by Freshwater Bay, including the Porter Cup, handed to Al Richard; the Selby Trophy, given to Crispin Keith; the Barton Salvers, to Mark Debuse and Andy Morris; and the Ludin Cup, to Joan Martin and Chris Sprackling.
The Alliance's AGM took place at Newport Golf Club, on Monday March 11.
Also rewarded was Ventnor's M Goodridge, who was handed the Champion’s Shield, the Allen Cup and, jointly with D Griffith, the Copp Salvers; the Gail Cup went to P Norcutt of Ventnor; the Howell Cup was handed to P Young and B Allington, of Cowes; the Trott Salver was won by B Balchin and A Read of Cowes; the Smallman Cup went to S Johnson and G Burton of Newport; the Butt Salver was won by C Bridgeman and B Tyrell from Ryde; and T Relleen and T Adkin won the Westwood Trophy.
