Sunday, March 24 saw the second of the 2024 Isle of Wight Rowing Forum time trials, on the Medina river.
Hosted by Newport Rowing Club, a bright day with a gusty wind gave scullers a challenge, but all crews coped well.
In Division 1, over 3.4km course Newport had a men's crew of both Junior and Novice rowers, who finished second, in 15.28.
Shanklin and Sandown Rowing Club crossed the line first, in 14.30.
Newport's women's Masters crew rowed well, with a corrected time of 17.41, almost 2 minutes ahead of their direct competition, and were the fastest women's coastal crew in the division.
In Division 2, over 1.7km, Newport had three coastal fours entered, in the men's Novice and Junior, and in the women's Masters.
The Junior crew rowed well, in a time of 7.26 - becoming the fastest coastal boat.
The women's Masters crew rowed well, with a corrected time close to the men's Novices, who finished in 8.30.
