Runners from the IW were among those taking on the Southampton Marathon on Sunday, April 7 and IW Road Runners’ Joshua Price finished an incredible overall third.

He completed the course in just two hours 38 minutes and nine seconds, recording a PB.

Also among those to have headed across The Solent were Vicky, Simon, Tanya and Claire, running for Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS) UK, which supports families with the same diagnosis as 17-month-old Rexford, who is from the Island and is the only child on the Island with SDS.

Derek Reid ran for St Catherine’s School in Ventnor, which support children and young people from across the UK who has speech, language and learning difficulties.

Also taking part was a team from Mountbatten.

George Hobart completed his first ever marathon, in 3 hours and 49 minutes.

For the Isle of Wight Road runners, Matthew Wiper completed the course in 3 hours 42 minutes and 30 seconds. 

Lisa Robinson achieved her first ever marathon in 4 hours, 53 minutes and 53 seconds, despite losing her bank cards on the Itchen Bridge and having to call her bank whilst running, to cancel her cards.
