THE Isle of Wight’s Wightlink Warriors have added a German star to their roster of riders.
The Warriors have announced the signing of 41-year-old Henning Loof.
The Island outfit are confident the knowledgeable Henning, who originates from Meldorf, will offer great advice to the junior members of the team.
Team manager, Steve Piper, said: “Barry Bishop told me Henning contacted him about rides available for the 2024 season as he is now based in the UK with James Shanes and wanted to return to speedway.
“This meant the last piece of the jigsaw fell into place.
“The enthusiasm which Henning has shown since we spoke with each other has been incredible.
“I asked him to get some track time and I have seen that he scored well for a Rye House side last weekend, and after a seven-year layoff that was a great achievement.
“I am pleased Henning has joined our squad and am really looking forward to working with him.”
Henning added: “I'm really delighted to be able to join the club.
“I really look forward to meeting the fans and volunteers at Smallbrook Stadium, and I want to do really well for you all.”
You can watch Henning in his first meeting for the Wightlink Warriors on Thursday, June 27, when the Warriors take on ARH Heathens in the first leg of the Vince Mapley Trophy.
