An Island rowing club is hosting an open weekend off the back of Team GB's success at the 2024 Olympics.

Newport Rowing Club is throwing open its doors this weekend (September 7 and 8) as part of the Great British Rowing Weekend.

Those interested are encouraged to visit britishrowing.org.

Clubs around the country will be welcoming their local communities, giving them a chance to give rowing a try, with British rowing looking to become more visible.

Newport Rowing Club will be hosting a range of on-water and indoor taster sessions.

At the Paris Olympics, the British rowing team enjoyed a spectacular return to form, winning nine medals including three golds, and have more success in their sights at the ongoing Paralympics.
