Island triathletes have seen success at mainland events.

Wight Tri members have been to Dorney Lake Triathlon and New Forest Triathlon, posting personal bests and high finishes.

At Dorney Lake Triathlon, Nick and Laura Curwood both had great races.

Nick exited the 400 metre swim with an all-time swim PB, of six minutes and 18 seconds, before posting a ten kilometre bike PB of 15 minutes and 31 seconds, and a 2500m run completed in ten minutes and 12 seconds.

He finished second overall and knocked two minutes off of his personal best.

Laura, a para-triathlete, also achieved an all time PB on the swim, posting six minutes and 33 seconds, and again on the bike leg, completing it in 21 minutes and 21 seconds, and was only eight seconds away from her PB on the run clocking in at nine minutes and 18 seconds.

Meanwhile, at the New Forest Triathlon, Arielle and Lizzi Elton-Walters along with teammate Addy Swann headed to Ellingham Lake to take part in two events.

Arielle took on a 1000m swim, which included a 1450m run, completing the leg in 37 minutes and 28 seconds.

She then embarked on a 33km cycle, clocking in at one hour, 13 minutes and 38 seconds.

Following a ten kilometre run, Arielle finished in the time of two hours, 56 minutes and 38 seconds.

Lizzi and Addy competed as a relay team with Southampton Tri Club's Ed Simpson, with Lizzi swimming 1900m in 47 minutes. 

Addy went on to set numerous personal bests on the bike leg, completing the 90km circuit in two hours and 55 minutes. 

Ed then brought the team home with a 21 kilometre run in one hour and 35 minutes, finishing with a time of five hours, 20 minutes and 58 seconds.
