A free scoring East Cowes Vics side put Romsey Town to the sword yesterday evening (Tuesday) – netting seven goals.
Scott Jones opened the scoring inside the opening five minutes, and bagged himself a brace soon after.
Romsey Town limited the Vics to just the two goals going into the break, but the flood gates really opened in the second half.
On 62 minutes, Josh Neale netted his first of the evening and scored a second 13 minutes thereafter.
Before long, Neale found himself a third, scoring a hattrick, and Adam Voller added some further gloss to the scoreline with a late brace.
The win takes East Cowes Vics to the top of the Division One table, a point ahead of Alresford Town with a game in hand.
Of their eight opening games, the Islanders have dropped points in just one, losing to Ringwood Town last month.
They host Whitchurch United at the weekend.
