The Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT held their Hill Climbs Championship over the weekend.
On Sunday, October 13, more than 30 cyclists took on the season's final event, the 'Blackgang' climbs, vying for awards and personal bests.
Kevin Chant emerged victorious with an overall time of six minutes and 58 seconds. Junior rider Ewan Cook also impressed, securing both the junior title and overall second place.
Cook was followed by teammate Nick Earley, who clinched third, marking an all-round win for the Wightlink-Wight Mountain team.
Charis Jones, also from Wightlink-Wight Mountain CRT, retained the women's title for a second consecutive year. Teammate Nadia Lele, on a mountain bike, took second place, while Wight Tri member Arielle Elton-Walters finished third.
Category winners included Simon Ernest (Independent) in the Vet40+ category, Paul Martin (NAUT Cycling) in the Vet50+ category, and Steve Taylor (NAUT) in the Vet60+ category.
In the junior categories, Ewan Cook (WLWM) and Annabelle Steward (IOW Triathlon Club) emerged victorious.
The event was supported by sponsors Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries, Island Renewables Ltd, Wight Mountain, KReative Studios, and Blackgang Chine-Land of Imagination, who provided prizes and trophies.
The Hill Climbs Championship marked the final event of the cycling season.
